In 2016, I was invited to draw live caricatures at a wedding in Tracadie, New Brunswick.
The bride and groom had reserved a cottage for themselves, but they decided to stay at the hotel with their family so they could enjoy the celebration together. They generously let me use the cottage instead, which meant I was able to bring my daughter Emma along for the trip.
While I drew caricatures for the wedding guests, Emma and I also got to enjoy some cake and spend time together at the cottage. It turned the booking into more than just another event—it became a great memory for both of us.
The bride and groom finished the evening with their own “Just Married” caricature, giving them a fun keepsake from their wedding day.
Experiences like this are one of the reasons I enjoy drawing at weddings. Every celebration is different, and the people, conversations and unexpected moments make each event memorable.
