Over the years, I have drawn quite a few celebrity caricatures simply for fun.
Drawing recognizable faces is a great way to practise exaggeration. The challenge is deciding which features to push further while still keeping enough of the person’s likeness that people can recognize them.
Some of these drawings are more exaggerated than others, and a few were created years apart as my style continued to develop. Looking back at older work is always interesting because I can see how my linework, shading and approach to caricature have changed.
These were never commissioned pieces. They were personal sketches inspired by familiar faces from music, movies and television.
